New Here

Hello, I am from NE Wisconsin. I recently got a single speed bike for commuting; I love riding it! I would like to either make this bike into more of a road bike style or get a separate bike for going faster (although my wife might not like that plan lol).

I have a selection of bikes to choose from, but my go-to for a fun ride is the bike with one gear. Unless it's too hilly, the single speed will take you anywhere you need to go. With a flip-flop, you can have a gear for climbing and a gear for everything else.

Welcome.
Everybody deserves 2 bikes.
Vintage can keep it cheap.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!

I agree with Wildwood on having two bikes. If nothing else, you'll have one to ride when the first one is down for maintenance or repair.
In your case, a single speed has a limited skillset.

A folding bike might make a good 2nd one; you can fold it up and put it in the trunk of your car.
