Hi there-
Mostly an off road rider. Used to travel a lot with bike in tow. Mostly to Upstate NY and NJ. I want to start exploring beautiful places again. Hopefully I will find some inspiration on this site and get back to it!

Check out the CLIMB FaceBook page as well as the website, which has maps and locations of the 15 or so parks that have maintained mt bike trails maintained by CLIMB. CLIMBonline.org.

Couple of hundred of good trails here on the Island, nothing too technical as there are no rocks or major hills. But fun to be had.

Decent road riding as well once you know the area. Theres also a FB group Long Island Cycling where you can ask for route info and where are some favorite places to ride.

Thanks Steve.. Very familiar with CLIMB and all the trails here on Long Island. Looking to branch out and do some riding off the island.

For someone who lives in NYC and likes to travel with a bike in two, do you have a folding bike?

If you're not in a hurry, they can be the perfect thing.

There's a brand called Priority that is based in NYC that makes nothing but belt-driven bikes, and they make a folder too. I know I enjoy not doing chain maintenance on my Apollo 11, and I would enjoy not getting greased when I move the bike in and out of the car too. My next folder may be a Priority.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin and enjoy your stay.
