Howdy from Long Beach, California! I'm a bike nut and have been, since I can remember! I just turned 60 and still enjoy building and collecting all types of bikes. I've even been getting bikes for my grandkids! Lately, I've been obsessed with 90s MTBs, but I've also owned, built, and collected many 70s to early 80s BMX bikes, pre & post-war ballooners, and a lot of Schwinn Cruisers. Here are a few pics of things past and present.

SWEET Wagon...cool bikes too.
I'm hitting 60 in a couple of months and we seem to have the same types of tastes.
When Dad was stationed at Long Beach we lived in San Pedro near S. Western and Palo Verdes Dr N. Old military housing that's gone now.
Crazy to think as junior high kids, 12-13 years old, we used to ride all the way to Cabrillo Beach. Basically we rode the full length of San Pedro north to south and back again.

love that point fermin area of san pedro. scenic with some flats but mostly ridiculous hills. paseo del mar, the korean bell, the "gaffey wall" and that insane drop-down

of bluff place/stephen white drive to cabrillo are all must-do when over there. unfortunately gets overshadowed by the switchbacks, climb to the "domes," the slide area,

climb up to friendship park (either side) and via colinita (all relatively close).

seems like the military housing on the se corner of western and 25th st (turns into pv dr south heading towards portuguese bend) got redone in the last decade or so. the military housing

near the se corner of western and pv dr north doesn't look like it's been upgraded since my last roll through the area. dunno if y'all dropped down capitol dr, 1st, westmont or summerland

back in the day to get to the pedro flats and the beach vs the steady rise of western nearly all the way to 25th. regardless, none of them were easy to come back up after a beach day.
