Hello from the True North!
Hi,
I joined here a couple of weeks ago, and I just wanted to give everybody a big Hello! I've been tinkering with bikes since I was a kid. I was lucky to have a cool little shop run by a family in my neighborhood. They were very generous with us kids - whenever they could, they'd take a few minutes to help out with some pointers and advice. Heck, they'd even (usually) be able to drop what they were doing to fix a flat, or help out with something quick. And many times, they'd do it for the cost of the inner tube, or brake cable, or what have you. Since that time, I discovered a local bike co-op in my area, maybe 20 years ago, and have been going there every so often to fix/replace something, or to build up a bike from the bare frame onwards. I'm seeing the same kind of spirit here, with people posting their problems, and experienced people helping out with some advice. I love it! and thanks to everyone who has every posted something helpful. :) I hope that over time, I can also lend a bit of advice or helpful suggestions to someone who needs it. Cheers, Greenman |
greenman.canada,
Welcome to bike forums, it's great to hear that you are doing the same great things that folks at your old bike shop did for you many years ago.......Good Karma seems to always pay great dividends. All the Best, Ben BTW, are you getting ready for that cold air blowing down from the North? :innocent: |

Tell you what though, we'd both lose any debate about this to a Greenlander! Cheers, Greenman |
