Hi I am a new registered member.

I am from Belding, Michigan. I have been cycling since my first trike.

I road bike with a Trek 2200 -it has road gearing with a mountain bike drive chain. It has 27 speeds all of which have been used at one time or another.

I am a seasoned cyclist. However, I have learned how to slow down and enjoy. My endurance is good. My speed is about 14 mph average.

I camped with two other friends at Cheboygan State Park. We hiked about five miles and then later in the afternoon we cycled about seven miles of the park in the afternoon. Partied that night.

The next morning (8:00 a.m.) I took a hike up the RED trail and spotted two (2) cougars. Apparently they had been watching me nd then decided to drop from their perch and thank god -they ran.

The next day we took a tour around Boix Blanc Island on our mountain bike which was thirty miles. There was eleven miles of harden trail with rocks and tree roots. The entire island is covered with limestone. The gravel roads were not fun.....

Then we drove to Big Bear Mountain. There is three staging or parking areas to access the mountain. We were out about seven miles when my friends chain broke. He sent us on while he repaired it. After that he fixed it three more times and he ended up running the bike back to the car. A nice work out for him.

We stayed on the blue/green trails and I wondered how anyone could ride the red/black trails. What a fun ride up the mountain and especially back down and around........

I do prefer road biking......BC
