Another Canuck
Hi - to a whole new set of friends!
I'm a semi-old guy (61) who took up cycling 4 years ago -- I hadn't ridden since I was in High School, but you know what they say, "You never forget how to....". I've developed very bad feet and had to give up my backpacking and mountain scrambling. (I live 2 hours from the Canadian Rockies.) So I tried out cycling and found that the 'no impact' suited me very well.
I'm into cross-continent touring - I go for a couple months each summer, and so far I've crossed Canada from the Pacific to the Atlantic, and now I'm working on the Gulf of Mex to the Arctic Ocean. Was going to finish it this summer, but had a heart problem surprise me...now I'm aiming for next summer.
I'm single (divorced), have two grown daughters; a burned out college prof, now self-employed (so I can take those summers off!). My other hobbies are reading and choral singing (tenor).
I drive a Connondale touring bike.
