i have crummy brakes
Hi I’m Robert and I have attention deficit disorder.
I might say something very random and usually in an incoherent fashion.
I have a mountain bike. It is old, but I like it (it has crummy brakes). I have a GT RTS Team with really crummy brakes. There are miles of single track around my area of town and I can not stop very well when I ride them. Did I mention I have really, really crummy brakes?
SO… I just pulled the old bike out, cleaned/lubed it, put on some new tires (and a tube) and rode it for the first time in a year or so... and i had fun.
Anyway, hello.

Hi High R.
Sounds like you need new brake cables. Ride on dude. Cool animation.

priceless! welcome, I'm a n00b as well. Are you still running shimano brake pads? IMO they are only good for squealing and eating rims. If you're on a budget get yourself some kool stop eagle claws (salmon colored are the best).
Only thing I've found that make cantis a safe braking option. I run cantis myself BTW. Will be a lot cheaper than a v brake conversion.
