Hello from Springfield, MO
Hi,
I'm Bob Hufford from Springfield, Missouri. I was fairly heavily into bikes from childhood (born in1960) until about 1984. Stayed away (collected Volkswagens instead) for about a decade and got back into it by reliving my childhood by collecting bikes I used to own (Sting-Rays, English Roadsters, Schwinn, Peugeot, Motobecane lightweights). I've settled down currently to a '75 Schwinn Paramount P-10, '67 Raleigh/Carlton Flyer (now a fixed gear), '83 Specialized Expedition (the tourer/commuter), a couple of '70s Schwinn Super Sports (this was my first new Schwinn way back when), a '90s Marin single-speed mountain bike and a Swing Bike (mid-70s trick/muscle bike). I've probably had around 15 other bikes in the last decade. With three teenagers and a mortgage, I don't find too much time to ride, but as soon as the oldest (almost 16) has that license, I won't have to drive her to school and I can resume the commute. I'm addicted to bike classified web sites (that's how I found this forum) as I'm always looking for what I don't have. I put together a Swing Bike page <https://www.geocities.com/bobhufford/swing.html> and am working on a Schwinn Lightweight page <https://www.geocities.com/sldatabook/cover.html>

Welcome Bob glad to see another classic bike enthusiast. I recently had so many myself that I had 5 in the main bedroom in various stages of construction.
How on earth did you get hold of a carlton Flyer? lovely frame I have an early Carlton myself and many years ago actually managed to speak to the guy who had a lot of influence at carlton special lightweight divisionI cannot for the life of me remember his name now. Reg Harris rode a carlton track bike when he made a comeback at 52 years of age. Maybe Iv'e got a chance yet!...

Hello Bob from just down the road about 50 miles. Was in Springfield just a couple of weeks ago looking at bikes and accesories. Didn't realize there were so many bike shops in town until I started looking for them. A & B Cycle has a VERY NICE new building. I had no idea!! CHEERS!!
