Colorado Lady says Hi

Hi Bike Friends!
I've never joined a forum before, but have certainly biked a lot! I commuted to work for 20 years and rode on week-ends with friends. I've now been retired for 6 years and still ride as much as I can! I'm hoping to do more "credit card" touring this coming year. I have a wonderful Columbine road bike and a pretty trashed 10-year-old Lite Speed Mountain Bike. One reason I'm joining is so that I can get help deciding what kind of new Mtn. bike to get this Spring. Another is that I'm looking for a new electronic trainer and would like your help deciding what to get! Finally, I may be looking for some ride partners....you never know! I'm excited about joining you (if I can figure out how this forum works!!!)

Thanks for the warm welcome, Walkafire, Snowy & Cycle17 !!
I'm a proud resident of Manitou Springs and really haven't done much biking North of here....except one gonzo 3-day road trip many years ago from Ft. Collins to San Luis. It would be great to learn about some nice (mellow) Mtn. biking in Northern CO. I'm not very hard core on single track since I broke my pelvis in SE Utah a few years back!
One of my goals is to ride all the passes in Colorado....yes, Mountin bike and road ride passes.

I'm a Coloradoan (?) over here on the other side of the divide. The cycling is fine here in the Grand Valley, even if it is only 20 degrees out right now.

I ride road and some mtn (I'm a chicken tho), plus I try to get out for a bit of touring. Last summer we did a 7 day loaded tour out our door circumnavigating the Uncompahgre Plateau. It was great!

Damn, Columbine road bikes are beautiful, the lug work is the finest I've ever seen, wowie zowie! How long have you had yours? Please feel free to post pics on the road bike forum, people will drool, I know I will.

Easy on the mountain bike, Moots, pick it up at the factory in Steamboat and go ride some single track on Rabbit Ears.

Welcome, hope you enjoy it here, people like Lala, snowy and DenverFox are great neighbors to have.

Columbine, welcome to the Bike Forums, I'm a Jr. member myself, get lot's of help checking into all the information here. You sound like a lot more "serious rider", than I, I'm just a recreational rider, currently have a Fuji Monterey Comfort bike but it's closer to a hardtail MTB than a lot of comfort bikes. I perfer the local paths/trails over road riding and LOVE to ride in the dirt weither it's a wide trail or semi-serious off road. I'm looking at switching to a more full MTB but I'm strictly on a budget so the new Specialized Hardrock Disc is what I'm hoping to pick up by Spring 2006. I'm with Denver and several others in the 50+ forum most of the time. ENJOY!
