hi from hub city nj

oh man, i'm not good at all at these introductions, make me feel like i'm at an AA meeting or somehting. hi my name is... and i'm... and so on. but oh well.
hi, my name is molly and i'm a freshman at rutgers in new brunswick, aka hub city nj. i spend a lot of time in nyc and philly, ride my dads old cannondale from the late 70s, and get hit by cars a lot (although the worst time, i was walking, and broke the guys windshield with my forehead). i like reading, writing, photography, surfing, screenprinting, sewing, welding, and of course, biking and anything to do with biking
anyway, i would like very much to meet more bike-type-people in the nj/nyc area, and hopefully this is a good way to go about doing that.

a little of both, i have a mountain bike i still love, and a road bike i'm getting used to. hopefully a fixed gear soon as well.

i lived in hunterdon county, with an abandoned quarry and train tracks behind my house, so i did a lot of mountain biking there. now that i live in a city-ish place, i can actually road bike a lot more. getting hit by cars is just a streak of bad luck i've been having.

Well I sure hope that streak ends very soon for you. That is not one I'd like to have.

Cheers,

Brian

Welcome to BikeForums! You could probably meet a lot of riders by joining RU's Cycling Club/Team. If I remember correctly, they ride mountain, road, and cyclocross up there.

If your interested in riding across the country, there's a organization called Bike & Build (there's link in my signature) that raises money for Habitat for Humanity (and similar groups) by having college students ride from the east coast to the west coast during the summer.

yeah i was going to do cyclocross with a bunch of the ru cycling kids but unfortunately sprained my knee and ended up with 14 stitches in my forehead after a car collision walking.
i just started getting back on my bike.
but i do hang out with some of the new brunswick bike kids, especially the ones that are willing to go to dc for alleycats (ok, i worked a checkpoint, but i still went!), and i've been around for all the hub city alleycats, so i meet a decent amount of kids from around here that way.

the bike and build thing sounds cool, i'm going to check that out, thanks!
