Hello from Sunny, Hot and too damn Humid Florida.

I am a bike commuter and Randoneaur and have been riding for about 6 years.
I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to add my 2c.

How's biking there in Tampa? I moved to NC from Tampa about a year and a half ago and couldn't imagine biking there in Tampa. Crazy, crazy drivers. Not to mention the 5 ton Buicks where you can only see knuckles and blue hair.

The riding isn't as bad as you might think. I work nights so I go to work after the old ones go to bed and ride home before they get up. There are also two trails of around 40 miles each not too far away. The last few years have seen a big increase in randoneauing activity in central Fla. so lots of chances to rine long distance.

You talking about the Pinellas trail? Never ridden that one before. I didn't get into road biking until I moved to NC about a year and a half ago. There is a really good mountain bike set of trails near Apolo Beach. Some are pretty technical also.

I have not ridden anything yet, bike wont be here till tues-thur this week. Trails I was looking to ride would be the suncoast/north west tampa paved trails to build up endurance and get used to the bike, and for offroad was going to check out morris bridge road first since its very close right here in town.

Riding with sombody with experience is surly going to help me devolop my technique faster and give me some good pointers like bike maintnece and repair ^^

There is the Pinellas trail but also the Suncoast trail (42 miles along the Suncoast Parkway) and the Withalacoochee trail (47 mile rails to trails in Hernando county)

As to commuting I just sweat alot!! I work in the Maintenance Dept. for the USPS so hot and sweaty go with the Job, I just start sweating before I get to work!

Another TampaBay rider here....mostly trail rider (road). I live in Clearwater. Ride the Pinellas trail (which I just moved to within 1 1/2 miles from) and the Suncoast.
