Greetings from Indy!
I've loved cycling ever since I learned to ride that 16" bike of my neighbor's (a LONG time ago!). I never quit riding, but also never was what might be called a cyclist until recently. A couple of years ago, I almost accidentally fulfilled a goal I'd set way in the back of my mind to ride about 63 miles in a day. Since I discovered I could do that, I've been bitten by the bug - my dream is to see the world on my own two wheels - "bikepacking". Just did the Adventure Cycling Intro to Road Touring out in Washington state, and loved it. I'm on my way!
I'm also working to build a team and start a community bike project here in town using an interesting aggregate of ideas and people. That's fun, too.
Kids are grown and off, husband has arthritis in his knee so doesn't ride, so it's just me out there on the road. Just bought panniers after combing the Touring forum for thoughts and opinions last night. (What came through was, for safety's sake, DON'T SKIMP ON PANNIERS!
Hoping for a big trip in September.

I'm planning to be in your state to ride TRIRI (The Rural Ride in Indiana) starting Saturday. The week-long ride starts and ends in Ft. Wayne and loops around the N.E. part of the state. Should be fun.
