HI, my name is Ed and I'm 39 soon to be 40. Bought a Trek 7500 this week and took it out this morning for the first time on the streets and backroads of Ann Arbor, MI and it was so awesome. My first bike ride in 10 years. I work in Ann Arbor, MI and live in Westland, MI. I hope to ride as much as possible in the relatively short time left until winter comes.

Hi Ed,

Congrats on the new Trek! Ann Arbor is a great area for road riding. I live in the Brighton area and ride a lot at Island Lake state park and Kensington Metro Park. Check out the Ann Arbor Biclying Touring Society site at https://www.aabts.org/ for more information of area rides.

cheers,
- tom

Thanks Tom! I actually joined AABTS as a member a couple days before I actually bought the bike. Unfortunately this morning I was a bit late in joining the AA-Dexter Breakfast ride and didn't have the map. So I ended up just taking in the sights of AA for about 7-10 miles, but probably climbing way more hills than I would have if I had been on time. For sure next week though. Good suggestions, thanks again.

Judging by the fact that you bought a 7500, you are probably ready for some serious riding. If this is the case, I was wondering, have you ever heard of the Michigander or Dalmac? If you haven't, these are week long tours of michigan. Obviously I go on the michigander. Its tons of fun crossing the state on bikes, and if its sounds like your thing, I highly reccomend you join us.
