Hello From Buffalo NY

Well I'm glad I found this forum. I just started seriously training again in December 02' after about 3 yrs off. I raced USCF (93'-98'), Collegiate for Purdue (94'-98'), and puttered around (99' - 01'). I moved to Buffalo from North West Indiana April of 2000 for work. I have a Paramount Series 5, Trek 990, Cannondale M400 (Only original equip is the frame). I'm hoping to be in good enough shape to get back to CAT 4 this year and build myself back up for better things in 04'. Good to meet all of you in advance.

- And oh ya I can not wait for spring to come. Here in Buffalo that's around June.

Well, so far we have had over 80". Better than last year, but there is still more time. It's tough to train on the road when it is all snow and there is no shoulder to retreat to when cars start sliding. The basement will do for now. The more I am down there the more remodel ideas I come up with. Of course that money will need to go toward new road bike.

i pass through buffalo at least everyother month... have you ever gone to Erie to ride?... presquille pk is beautiful... they have a 12 hour endurace ride in the summer... kinda boring but interesting ppl there.
this year you are getting lucky with the snow fall.. its heading more towards albany..etc. so hopefully spring will come earlier...like May?

No I have not gone to Erie yet, but with the training I'm sure I will end up down there. I'm not sure if I will be ready for a 12 hr by summer. Still working off those extra pounds. I love the fact that there are actual hills. In most of Indiana you find a hill or two and go up and down for training. The hills around ski country will be great. I'm hoping to get out in April with all the cold weather gear.

Hello... and welcome to BF, it's a fun place. Closest I've been to Buffalo, NY is Woodstock, NY and recently getting my coffee beans from Victor, NY.

Look forward to your contributions...
