Getting back to cycling.

Hi everyone, I'm just getting back into cycling. I used to love it as a kid but grew away from it as I got older. I have always been obsessed with cars but as gas prices and traffic increase I feel myself being drawn back to two wheels. Also, I have recently realized that I need to find some form of exercise that I enjoy and I think that cycling is the answer. I think that maybe I'm also missing the fun and carefree lifestyle I had when I was young and this is some sort of mental therapy. Whatever the reason, I'm excited about my new project. I just picked up an old junk road bike from a thrift store. It is complete minus the wheels. I thought back to previous bikes that I owned when I was younger and realized that I liked the size of my mountain bike but that the simplicity of my BMX bike was what really made me happy. As a result of this I have decided to refurbish my new ride and turn it into a single-speed. Because of where I work and go to school I am envisioning the bike as a sort of bulletproof urban commuter. If anybody has any suggestions for a cheap wheelset (since I currently have no wheels) input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I look forward to reading the forums.

Single speeds as well as fixed gear bikes are quite popular on this forum, I think for just those simple reasons. We'll hook ya up with what ya need to know, and how.
