Riding home in the dark
I've been riding to work for about six months now. (I should be there in a week or two. But seriously ...) Nice and easy 2.5 miles each way on a 7-speed Fuji hybrid. I work 2nd shift, so I travel against the afternoon traffic on the way in and it's just cyclists, drunks and buses on the way home after midnight. (2 other guys at work live near me and are more experienced bike commuters.) I've been on a couple of short, no-drop LBS rides, always near the very back of the pack. And I've gone on some 10-20 mile solo rides when I can steal the time. Been loving it.

Welcome Midnight! Check out the Commuter & Roadie forums. Lots of good info in there.
