G'day from Melbourne, Australia
Hi - and thanks for a great forum. I've loved bikes forever - bought a 10spd Peugeot 30 yrs ago with my paper round savings - but have only recently become completely addicted. Bought myself a niceish road bike (Gitane w/ Ultegra) as a 43rd birthday cheer-me-up, and now ride it to work every day + 50-60km rides every Sat and Sun. I've lost 14kgs (losing 7 more would be nice...) and feel great. Now I'm battling with the urge to upgrade my bike after just a few months. Not sure quite how I would explain that to my beloved...
cheers

There arent too many upgrades you need on that bike. What you need are more bikes - a tourer, MTB, cyclocross and a tandem. Start off with the tandem.
