Hello from the grand ol' USA!

Hello! I'm Clare!
Currently living in Washington, DC, although I'm moving to Minnesota next month (and I'm orginally from Berlin, NH.) I've spent my whole life <strike>traveling</strike>moving, and I absolutly love it. (and have gotten to see half the country, Canada, and even lived in the Virgin Islands. Life is good....... )
I actually joined this board becuase I'm planning to go to New Zealand next year, and I got the idea that rather than walking/hitching/driving, that I'd much rather enjoy the sights and sounds on a bike. So now I'm here, trying to pick up many pearls of wisdom, since I've never done any sort of extreme biking, and I can use all the help I can get!

Anyway, pleased to meet you all. Expect to hear lots of questions from me in the near future. I'm currently taking notes of prices and style (and sizes) on bikes in the online shops....so much more complicated than I ever imagined!

Hi ho Silver, away!

Wow. Sounds like you haven't gathered any moss.

There are some folks in both the Touring and Long Distance Cycling forums who can give you lots of good tips.

By the way - welcome.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.
