Hello My name is Mike and I'm an Alcoholic...

Just kidding, actually I'm more of a reformed Couch potato(e). I've always liked going for short little jaunts but never anything outrageous like commuting to work. But that's what I'm doing. It's about 15 miles each way. I bought a Trek 6700 several years ago, but serving on a submarine doesn't leave much time for family let alone ridding. So now that I'm on shore duty I feel it's time to crank it up a bit, save some money on gas, and lose all the excess weight I've put on the last 5 years. Hopefully in a bit I'll have the money for a decent road bike and be able to go on all day rides.

Hey Hermanator, you aren't related to Dan Quayle, are you? Mr. East Hill tells me that submariners are always the best fed people in the Navy, so it's not surprising there's a bit of extra weight!

Glad to have you 'on board'.

Welcome to BF!

East Hill

Hello Mike I just joined yesterday. I used to have a drinking problem myself, but now I have enough money to get to the liquor store whenever I feel like it.

I'm only responding because as I was scrolling down the titles of introductions yours made me laugh out loud. Just my kind of humor. Welcome, and don't forget, "one day at a time." Friskie
