hello from Salem, Oregon
Hi, I just joined this forum, my name is Cyndy, I love to cycle. I live in Salem, Oregon and ride a Cannondale Synapse. I ride as much as I can, it's been pretty cold here. I was going to go for a lunch ride today, but ended up going for a long walk with the dog instead because of the temp! Darn. Anybody else in So Salem up for lunch rides?? Cheers!

Hello from out in the wilderness, nineteen miles from Salem. While you wait for spideysgirl to check in, I'd say the old Oregon State Hospital looks creepy enough for some horror movies. Over a century ago, when it was built, it might have been the very model of modern elegance. It's where One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed.
The Oregon Coast seems to attract some moviemakers but the only movie I can think of, is a sort of fun/scary movie for the younger audience called The Goonies. That was in Astoria.
My life in 1999, much of which was in Salem, might make a good horror movie if all the boring parts were cut.

I believe Kindergarten Cop was filmed in Astoria as well.
Im not in Salem but lived there at one time. There is a good bike club in Salem that has lots of rides if you are looking for a group to ride with.

Hmmm horror movies? I have not heard that Salem is famous for that. I know that "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed here.

Yes, I ride with the Salem Bicycle Club quite a bit and have made several good friendships through the club. The sun is out today! I'm going for a lunch ride, yay.
