new guy in town...
Hello...I'm new here, so please be gentle...I haven't rode a bike for awhile now, but giving it serious thought. I'm not a racer....those days are over for me. Let me explain: my wife has osteo and breaks fairly easily. I would like to get out and exercise but what can she do? My best thought was to get into tandem bikes, where I could control the bike as captain and all she has to do is just hold on as stoker. It beats here on her own bike and going down while I'm on my own bike, right? Our financial situation is like most, live from payday to payday. So, I guess what I'm getting down to is this...what tandem bike should I be looking at? It has to be a comfort tandem (we are both in our early 50's). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. You could get something like a Greenspeed trike for her. Impossible to fall and break something.
Head over to the Recumbent subforum and ask them for recommendations.
If you don't have any health problems you could get a nice road bike.

Thanks for the info 
We just put a down payment of a used tandem, and we are picking it up in a couple of weeks. I think the whole tandem thing will work well, and it's a romantic thing to do at Valentine's Day, right?

Whoops, new, not used
Well, after looking at many tandems online, we have decided to narrow the choice to either a Cruiseliner by Trek or a Tango tandem by Schwinn. Any thoughts on which I should choose? I'm leaning toward the Schwinn, because it has an independent pedaling system, whic means she doesn't have to peddle if she doesn't want to...and it's $60 cheaper.
