Hello from Wisconsin!
I've been riding (road) for 2 years now and I want to get faster and better. I'm not hard core as I only find time to do about 25 miles a week and I fit in two Century rides each summer. I want to increase that next year. I average about 18 mph on my 25 mile route but want to boost that to 21 or 22 by the end of the year. I hope this is the place to start learning what works and what doesn't.
I look forward to exchanging information.

welcome...
do you ride alone or in a group?
I have been riding alone for about 6 months to give myself more leg power. Its a bit hard to maintain a fast pace this way but it seems to be working...
6months ago I average about 15kph, using my hybrid, on my regular route(75% of it is uphill). After 2 months, I had an average of about 18kph. Now I can go more than 25kph.
I aim to get an average of about 32kph on the same route(alone).
After I get this, then I'll get back to riding in a group... And take advantage of my "training". I ride everyday to build up my strength and stamina...
Good Luck!

Sometimes I ride alone and sometimes in a group.
Alone I have averaged 18 mph for my first 123 miles of this season (mainly flats with a few rolling hills and one big hill).
I haven't ridden much with a group this year yet, but last year they generally pushed me to keep a faster pace (21mph on my normal route), but at the cost of having to draft them or get dropped. I like riding in a group as I find riding solo is somewhat dull.
I can't get out every day as you do (which I suspect is the reason you seem to be progressing so fast in your training), but rather I can get out one or two time a week. Next year I plan on some schedual changes that will allow me to ride any day I wish.
I'm trying a few things I have seen posted here to increase my speed and my technique, so we'll see...
I really love this site; it offers so much!
