Road cyclist from SF Bay Area

Hi all,

Im a fairly new road cyclist from the SF Bay Area. Originally bought a real beater to leave at BART and did my 5.2 mile daily commute.

Then took a job 56 miles from home and got out of cycling.

About October of last year I picked it up again and did my first century a couple of weeks ago on May 4th (The Grizzly Peak Century with 107 miles and 8800 ft. of climbing). So me and my Univega Viva Touring have been through a lot together.

Now Im in the market for a new bike (looking at the Felt F65 and the Trek 2000). I just got a pair of tight bike shorts (been wearing baggies all this time) and everyone including me is impressed with the muscular thighs

Will be biking through the Canadian Rockies this June and just keeping on keeping on. Im hoping to get a couple more centuries under my belt and get a little faster going up hills.

Ive been lurking for quite some time and getting lots of very good information and advice. Thank you all for such a great resource on cycling.

Welcome to the forum from another Bayarea-ite. Glad to hear this is a spot you've gotten benefit from!

And as far as centuries and more climbing, there's always:

Blindbat,

Let me also welcome you to Bike Forums. I'll be doing the Sequoia Century on June 1st. I'm REALLY looking forward to the West Alpine climb.

P.S. UncaStuart - How was the DD?
