A little about me--

In college I bought a Robin Hood 3-speed bicycle made by Raleigh. I rode it all over St. Paul and Minneapolis in all kinds of weather. Seven years later I was still riding it and wanting something better. I bought a used Dunelt 10-speed with some Reynolds 531 tubing in the frame. I still have that bike. I have ridden it off and on as life and time allowed. Last summer I decided to start riding again to drop some excess body weight. It has been slow getting back into riding shape and dropping even a few pounds. I am at 212 pounds and would like to drop about 30 pounds, but it seems to get slow at about this level.

I like to work on my bikes. I try to get around 80 miles a week. I also like to make tools I need for working on my bike when I can. I have an arc welder and it opens some opportunities that would not be possible without it.

My wife kept telling me I needed a new bike. At her coaxing I bought a new Specialized Allez Sport Tripple last November. It was a tough thing to do, but I did it.

Hello twobikes, if you only have two bikes right now, you may have to change your name in the future... .

You must stop by the Classic & Vintage forum with photos of your Dunelt as we are always happy to see classic bikes.

Welcome to BF!

Thanks

East Hill,

Thank you for the welcome. I will think about some photos of the Dunelt. About half of it has been replaced or upgraded (wheels, front chainring was 46/49 but now 52/40, derailleurs, fenders, foam handlebar grips, cyclometer, lights). The rest is original (frame and paint scheme, Brooks B-17 saddle, handlebars, shift levers, pedals).
