Hi from Sunny San Francisco...

...today, at least.

Started riding a road bike two years ago after my body starting failing from years of competitive sports. It's been a huge switch from other sports to an endurance sport but I've enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. Rode my first Century (Solvang) a couple of weeks ago and started obsessing over many details (will post separately).

I'm glad I found this forum - looks like fun!

Hello Barre--you aren't saying that you are a prime candidtate for OCP status, are you? Are you really in San Francisco? It is an endurance sport getting up those hills .

Welcome to BF!

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, I live in the geographic center of the City. A short ride for me would be about 25 miles w/2,000 ft. of climbing. The last 1/4 mile of each ride ends with a 500' climb up to my neighborhood.

What's OCP?

It's a long story...https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/117468-ocp-club-beginning.html

Your climb is worse than mine--much worse. I have a not quite 400 foot rise in about a mile.

So, do you think you'll be going that rocky route? Or are you going to resist the siren lure of OCPness?
