Hi from Ashland

Live in this glorious place alternatively riding my '94 Bridgestone MB-1 (with urban (Ritchey Crossbites)/mtn setups), my '05 Bianchi Strada (w a SRAM x-7 Trigger shifter mod), and my new '05 Marin Lucas Valley ($466 at REI.....set up with Ritchey Speed Max Cross tires ). Just let my '03 Jamis Coda Sport go to a friend. With close to sixty years of riding, flat bars work well for me at this point. Log between 50 and 100 miles weekly. Glad to hook up here. As many of you know, cycling enriches the life experience and feeds the spirit. And it takes some intelligence to figure that out.

A Bientot,

Trebor;)

Hello Trebor, it sounds as if you have enough bikes to keep you very, very busy. With all that experience, you must have some good stories to tell, so find a home here in the forums and talk to us :D .

Welcome to BF!

I wish just in Ashland attending UBI. Beautiful town and surrounding area. I loved all the single track.

If you see Tim, tell him Luke says that his Merckx is still hot and hello. :)

East Hill: Haven't spent enough time looking around to know where I can make a contribution yet and am off on a trip to New Mexico (understand Albuquerque's bike path system is great!) and haven't decided which bike to bring....probably the MB-1 with urban & mtn tires. So in due time, dear.;)

Brad: Thanks...yup although am more of a recreational rider. Longest ride many yrs ago was a 200 mi run up Rte 100 in Vt and then up to White Mtns in NH in 2 days....my younger riding partner helped by letting me draft him all the way.:) Another fabulous experience was cycling around Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia (180 mile loop with lots of elevation changes and spectacular scenery):D . Have on my list the Seattle to Portland Ride and Cycle Oregon.

The single tracks here are quite spectacular.

Keep the rubber down (at least for pavement work!)

Enjoy,

Trebor

I was going to ask if you'd found the Pacific Northwest regional forum yet...enjoy the trip to NM.

I'm Robert. When I am not in China I live in Yreka California; which, as you know, is just over the hill from Ashland. I have worked in Ashland for quite a few years and know the town very well. I got back into biking in my Early thirties then got hurt (Broke my tail bone) which ended my riding for several years. Now that I am in China I have discovered I can ride again without too much pain (it hurts, but is bearable). I expect that when I return I will start riding again.

Trebor,

This is Mike from up the road (Portland) I have been thinking real seriously about taking classes at UBI in summer '08, framebuilding and maybe also wrenching. As you know, you live in just about the center of bicycle heaven. Welcome to the forum!
