About me...
I'm a 37-year-old journalist, writer and university professor in Canada. I can't quite decide if I'm a writer who cycles or a cyclist who writes, though I think it's more of the latter. I'm gunning for an 8,000 km season though, barring injuries, I'll probably only manage 7,500.
I'm not just a wheel guy. I also play several musical instruments, including the flute and several other wind instruments, piano and guitar [da blooz!]. I listen to just about eveything, but I find my true musical love is 20th-century "classical" music [yeah... the atonal stuff].
A month ago, my partner and I celebrated 15 years together. She's also a writer, acyclist, a fan of the sport, and she loves guitars. Every day, I think of how fortunate I am to have met up with a woman like her. On a 75km ride, we'll talk about the Tour of Denmark, Thomas Mann, the Chicago Blues sound and all sorts of things. She's the best bike buddy I have. [And I have some pretty fine bike buddies.]
I mostly ride a 2001 Marinoni Leggero with Campagnolo Daytona [the sports car], but I have a '97 Specialized S-Works M2 MTB ["Mango," the Jeep] and a '92 Specialized Rockhopper Sport ["Mule," the station wagon].

A nice stable of bikes, and a good friend to share with...doesn't get much better than that!
