socal resident checking In!
Well, my name is Kalvin, and im a full-time college student and part-time bank teller. I grew up always riding a bike, either it be BMX or a mountain bike. A few years ago my friends and i went up to the mountains with old bikes, and we got worked! Just recently i got interested in road bikes, and i went into my LBS, whittier cyclery, to check em out. The employee Robert, who was very nice and talkative, told me the basic entry road bike was the trek 1000, and they had it for $679.99. Well, by next week today ill hopefully be the happy owner of one. If theres anything else i need to know, chime in and let me know! thanks, and now another forum for me to put down in my favorites lol!

Hello Kalvin, I know only one other person who spells their name that way . Good luck with the new bike, and make sure you enjoy yourself!

Welcome to the forums, Kalvin! If you haven't already, come on over to So Cal and check out the rides there. Also, my first bike was a Trek 1000 - it is an excellent bike and you will not be disappointed.

Yeah, i've already checked out the socal forums, but most of the slang you guys speak over there is hard to understand. I'll have to see if the funds still work out, but thanks for the welcome!
