Howdy... again-ish.

About a year and a half ago I registered and said hi, but then life bit me But it spit me back out, and so I re-registered because either the account was purged or I'm not remembering it right, and have been lurking around.

Anyway, I am in Texas, the DFW area. I now have a cheap but purty blue bike I named Donkey, because it's my noble steed. It's not a good one, but I'm going to save up for a quality bike someday, and use the Donkey in the meantime and then as a backup. I got it last Thursday, and then I got a front basket on it Sunday. I've been riding in the neighborhood and some of the local parks, and enjoying myself.

I basically want to be able to go to the grocery store and library, as well as ride for enjoyment and bring it with me camping sometimes. It would be nice to be able to run some errands without jumping in the car. I'm a granola-hippie girl, so cutting down on the car use is dear to my heart

Thanks for the welcome, East Hill. Yep, Texans are like bugs - turn the rock over, and there's tons of us!

Hopefully, I won't forget the forum time, since I now actually have a bike, versus wishing for one before!

Excellent! There are enough moderators in here from Texas who will miss you if you don't pop in and say hello every once in a while...
