Room for a newbie from NYC here?

I came across this forun through coolrunning.com. I am new to the sport being inspired by the sport of triathlon. I tip my hat to those athletes being called an ironman is a title that must be truly earned. Anyway, I am transitioning from bodybuilding to the sports of running, biking and swimming.

I am 5'7" 195lbs of lots of mass, so the switch has been an ardious one to say the least. I am out of breath very quickly, but am not giving up!

Any tips will be welcomed (I humble myself to thee).

Hello chancho9965, there is always room for another person who enjoys cycling here at BikeForums . You must have found the Triathlon forum by now. There's also a Training & Nutrition forum, because there are others here who are also bodybuilders (although not extreme).

My only tip--keep riding! Improvements come fairly quickly when you determine to get out there and ride...

Don't forget to check out the Northeast regional forum for local action.

Welcome to BF!

hey dude, there are a lot of NYC riders on this board. plenty of opportunities for group rides, organized rides, races, informal laps around the park, etc. whatever floats your boat.
