New Florida rider!!!! I'M SYKED!
Alright I finally talked my mom into giving me her older Trek Zx6500. I'm completely new to the sport and can't wait to start riding. What kind of tips can you guys give me? Anyone know any good trails in Florida?
Also, I KNOW NOTHING about the bike. I'm looking to get a few upgrades. I'll have about $500 to throw down. I'd like to get a new fork and maybe some pedals and shoes. I have no idea where to start or what to look for so any help would be great.
I hope to make some friends and become a regular poster.

Hello Ryan, your Trek should get you off to a good start. If I remember correctly, it's a hardtail. That may just what you need in Florida, because I don't think you will need much of a suspension 
.
Perhaps some photos and a reminder of what components are on the bike currently?
