Hello y'all,
I ride a Specialized Allez Sport everyday to work and take longer rides on the weekend for fun only (no racing). I am going to be riding around Lake Tahoe next Friday (I do this yearly) and I was thinking that maybe next year I would actually ride to Lake Tahoe. I have been looking at maps but talking about it with someone who has done it is much better I think.
Anyway, peace to you and yours,
Steve

Hello Steve, I haven't any guidance for you, although I would imagine that the ride would be hot, and steep. So, take a lot of water . I see that you've posted this question in the Northern California regional forum as well, someone there should be able to help you.

I did it a looong time ago from SF thru Sacramento and over highway 88. If I had more nerve I might have taken Hwy 50. There is a route on Bikely.com that goes from Auburn about half way to Truckee where the poster said he and the other bikers were picked up. I looked at Google.maps and Topozone. It seems you would need to ride on I-80 for a few miles a couple of times. Check with the HP for alternate routes.
