Hey All!

Expanding my options. My main focus is Whitewater Kayaking. I am from Southern Illinois, but from October through April I spend about every other weekend in NW Arkansas running rivers. When the water dries up I take three trips each summer to the Nantahala River area in W. North Carolina and I keep seeing all the Bikes coming and going from the Nanatahala Outdoor Center heading to the Tsali Trail and I keep thinking I need something else. So, here it is. I started looking at bikes a few weeks ago and ended up picking up my Giant "Rainier" yesterday. Wow!

Anyway, I look forward to using this forum for advice. Expecting mostly trails but have some off road planned as well.

Who knows, maybe I will run into you sometime

Thanks for the welcome,

Jay

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Welcome aboard!
Sonds like you are going to enjoy your visits!

Be sure to check out mountain biking, and for other stuff, there are other forums, including Foo, where off topic is the norm!

Hello Jay, my one and only whitewater experience was rather tame--running the Russian River many years ago. It was fun, although the bruising I experienced confirmed my suspicion that this was not quite my sport. I did manage to be the only one in the group who did not wind up turning upside down though .

I think you will come to appreciate mountain biking as an exciting pursuit.

Welcome to BF!
