Commuting plays in Peoria, Illinois

Today I did my first bike to work, 12 miles each way. I did some practice runs over the weekend but was not sure how things would be in morning. Thankfully Peoria, has some excellent river and forest trails and lightly used roads. Here is a picture from the view:

I just recently started commuting in Peoria. From the Bradley area to East Peoria. Just over 4 miles one way. I don't have any bicycle paths to take, but I've found a decent route on the roads. I'm hoping to commute at least 3 days a week year round.
