Northern VA W&OD commuter - technical newbie

Hello,

Recently started commuting to work in Virgnia from Arlington to Herndon on the W&OD once a week. I may increase that to twice a week shortly. It's so much more pleasant than driving.

I ride a 1994 Trek 820. A cheap mountain bike, but just-right for my commute. I need to replace the chain and rear cassette. This is something I've never done, so I will be searching the forums for tips or help.

Thanks!

Hello wodcommuter, that Trek may be cheap, but it's purt near indestructible. A new chain and rear cassette will probably get it another 50,000 miles down the road.

Welcome to BF!
