Hi, I'm new to the bike forum. I live in Charlotte, NC. I'm 56 years young and have been riding for about a year after I got hooked on a bike trip through southern Italy last summer. On trails I am riding an old Trek mountain bike that I've had for 15 years but rarely used. I bought a hybrid Trek 7.2 last year after the Italy trip that I use on the road. I'm think of getting a road bike and have just started to research my options. I ride about 100 miles per week and love it.

Welcome to BikeForums young man (or woman).
I'm 62 and bike commute to work on my cyclocross-commuter and ride my road bike every weekend.
What road bike(s) are you considering?

BTW: Get the road bike to keep you young.

Road bikes are great (but I love my MTB as well!), and the combination of using both is a lot of fun :D .

As Ron said, what kind of road bike are you looking at?

Welcome to BF!

Wow, that must have been an experience. Do you have any pix that you can share with the group? I've visited Italy a few times, and have memories from those trips that will most certainly last a lifetime.

Ciao sraphe, and welcome to BikeForums! :)

Haven't looked at anything specific yet. Just reading up. It's a little overwhelming!

There are a lot of choices, just go slow and try to understand what you are really looking for when you go to get a bike :) .
