hi from up North!

I'm hoping that hanging out here will help me actually get out to ride more often! I'm up in Ontario, Canada. Warm weather is coming to an end here, but I'm hoping for some lunch time riding in Sept-Oct, then indoors on the trainer so I'll be fit and ready for spring.....well that has been the plan for about 4 years running now and it just isn't happening as often as it should be. I'd like to blame the kids (3 under 6...), but I know I'm the one at fault...

anyhoo...thought I'd say hi!

Get out there and ride your bike!

How's that? I can be sterner if you'd like .

What kind of riding do you do, and what bike or bikes have you got?

How old is the youngest? Perhaps you can haul the youngest, and get the older ones their own bikes?

Welcome to BF!

Hi hhabca, where are you located in Ontario. There are several people at this forum from all over the province. Maybe you can find a riding partner close to you to help give you a reason to ride. I think that Sept. and Oct. is some of the best riding weather in southern Ontario.
Happy cycling!

Quick reply.... I got on the bike - on a trainer. Kids were asleep and wife was out. About 3 years since I did that.
I do some road riding when I can, with the odd commute to work about once a month - once or twice a week would be better but I often need the option of getting home quickly. Used to do more MTB but packing up the bike and driving to a trail is no fun - it pulls the kids once in a while now. Oldest is 5.75, other two are 3.5 yrs old boys. I'm up in the Ottawa region.

All right, I'll rephrase:

GET IN THERE AND RIDE YOUR BIKE!

Your oldest could start riding a bike...but you'd probably still have to tote the other two.

Just do the best you can, but don't be like so many people and ten years from now think "You know, I don't know why I stopped riding... ."

Agreed. I intend to keep up the trainer duty so that when I do get the 1 hour free at least I'm fit enough to go out and enjoy it, and not die in the first 10 minutes. I'll try to get a post up in the vintage section about the yellow 1986 Bianchi Brava I just got...gota get the pics off the camera.
