New lease on life
Hey there, I'm fairly new to the sport of mountain biking, having not rode any type of bike for @ least 15 years. For the last 7 years I have had a kidney disease witch limited me physically. About 8 months ago I recieved a second chance @ life and had a transplant, witch instanly gave me more energy than I was used to. As I recovered I looked for ways to stay as healthy as I could. I started working out w/ weights but needed a cardio I would stick to. I recalled my youth as a bmx rider and thought I would give mountain biking a try. I instanly fell in love with the sport and have been hooked since. I now own 2 bikes, a hardtale and a full syspention trail bike, the later is a custom build, and ride 2-3 times a week. I am looking forward to talking w/ some of you in the future.

Welcome to BF!
Glad to hear you're back in the saddle again (health-wise and bike-wise).
Maybe you've seen the Mountain Biking forum on here, maybe not. Speaking of which, ever see Bush on the Texas trails?

Hello covert-rider, you are indeed very fortunate.
I have a friend waiting for a lung transplant, and he has been waiting for almost two years...he is in Florida actually essentially on 'stand-by'. It's a day to day thing for him, very stressful.
At any rate, it's wonderful that you have recovered your ability to find joy in the mountain biking! I hope you'll be able to let people know that a lot can be overcome with determination.
