Newb intro
With the help of some local friends (DeanP on here is one) I've gotten myself into road biking and picked up a pretty nice first ride.
Its a 2006 Scattante R550 I found on craigslist. Upon contacting the seller we found that we go to the same school (KCUMB)! That's quite a coincidence considering there is only 1000 or so students here!
He hooked me up with a great deal and threw in shoes, pedals, jerseys, a cateye computer/HR moniter, pumps, etc!
My previous biking experiences have mostly been around mountain biking (my 2002 rockhopper is FS). And until buying this road bike, I've been on the road with a classic Ciocc with full campy! It was a treat, but way too small.

Hello rcm3, you are lucky to have been introduced to road cycling by helpful friends--it certainly makes life a bit easier having someone around who can lend a hand. I don't think you could beat the deal you got with the shoes/pedals/jerseys, etc., either.
Still have the Ciocc? Perhaps some photos in the Classic & Vintage forum?
