From St. Louis area

Okay, doing the official introduction thing. I have ridden on and off throughout my life. Just got more serious and got rid of the 87 Schwinn and purchased a Red Cannondale R800. I love this bike which fits perfectly and feels like an extension of the body. I have a goal in the back of my mind to do a couple of races whether criterium or road. I'm not concerned about placement but would like to be able to stay with the group. Just got back from a bike tour from Montreal to Quebec City which was my first tour totalling 200 miles. I enjoyed it but was tired from all the travel. I check in on stlbiking.com also for additional knowledge for cycling. Glad to be a part of another cycling site!

Welcome! I just got back from St Louis last week. We stayed in the Chesterfield area. I noticed a ton of people cycling all over the place there. It was not uncommon to see a cyclist out on the road. Made me feel good and wish that I would have brought my bike with me.

You should definitely bring your bike in the future when you come to St. Louis. Below are some websites that are good for current rides and trails for your next trip. I'm an hour from Chesterfield so I ride in Illinois due to the travel time. If you want to ride with others, check out the stlbiking message boards and you will be able to find a riding partner.

Welcome from a former Missouri resident (Kingshighway, near Tower Grove Park)!
