Newb Here

I don't even ride as of yet. I am in the middle of traing for a marathon this year and need to do something that doesn't beat me up as much on some training days. So, here I am. I went to my LBS and am Contemplating what type, brand and model to get into. I live in the Phoenix area and there is a ton of beautiful places to ride off road. So I think I am leaning towards the mountain bike thing. At least I have options to either ride the street or the trails. I got my eye on a Cannondale F-7. The sales guy is a tri-athlete and says its a decent entry level bike. I don't want to spend a ton when my goal is marathoning. Anyway thats about it for now. I hope to get some good advice and maybe this bike thing will stick.

Hello demello33, plenty of options for you. Even a mountain bike will allow you to recover on your non-running days, and the Cannondale being offered would work. Who knows, you may decide to be a triathlete...

You get over that soon enough and find that bicycling is what you REALLY love.
BTW: Get a road bike.
