I've a Bridgestone T-700, a 5 speed cluster with a half stepper chain ring.

I particularly like the half step set-up, but need to change out the back of the bus and put in a cassette.

That limits me to apparently 32 or 36 spoke wheels, something to which I'm not accustomed, having a 48 spoke rear now.

Plus, I've got to spread the rear dropouts to accept the 135 mm spacing.

Is the moniker notes, I'm just getting started.

Bill

You may be a newbie according to the moniker, but you certainly seem to know what you're doing and how to do it!

Just starting

No really.

Apparently I've got to completely rebuild the bike.

I need Radneuer (sp?) bars, new Grab-On bar grips, a rear wheel with a cassette.

Is everyone doing 36 spokes for touring now?

Tnx,

I don't know about the 36 spokes for touring...randonneur bars sound like an upgrade though, they would be a definite plus...

Why not head over to the Touring forum and Long Distance forum and ask.
