Hello from Corvallis,OR
Hey I'm fairly new to cycling, I just bought my first road bike a couple of days ago and I'm having a blast riding it and am slowly adding mileage to a bike that has seen more years than I. I am a Freshman at OSU and I am double majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I have mountain biked for a number of years just for fun and that's what this new road bike is turning out to be, a ton of fun.
I have a Gary Fisher Piranha MTB with front and rear shimano disk brakes, Bontager disk tires, shimano crank, and shimano shifters and derailleurs as opposed to the normal SRAM.
My new road bike is a 1979 Peugeot I'm not sure which model though, it was made in France and I know this all now thanks to this site. I bought it for $100, and it runs great. It has new Mavic rims and wheels, the previous owner said he replaced the old derailleur with a newer one, which sucks because now I have no option to keep it but I can't really complain I like that bike a lot. It has early 80s specialized foot restraints, has a new seat no idea what but it's pretty comfortable, and has orange hand wraps.
I have pictures of both below.

Hello Ricky, sounds as if you will need major stress management with that double major--the bikes should work really well for that!
Would it be possible for you to post a thread in C & V about your Peugeot? There are quite a few people who like to take on the challenge of identifying Peugeots in their infinite mystery .
Welcome to BF!
