Hi. I'm new.
I'm new to biking. I'm really just starting to do it because I love to be outdoors and I'm overweight and need to get fit so I can feel better. I use to be a size 8 and now I'm a size 18 within just a few years. I'm ready to get back to the old me. I'm the kind of person that needs a support group kind of. It's hard for me to get out and do things without someone to do it with. But luckily a couple of girls from work said that they would ride with me. I'm really going to try hard to do this. I just have a cheap bike from wal-mart to start out with. I'm not sure if that will matter or not. Anywho...that's about it.

Any bike will get you started! You need to work on your confidence and bike handling skills, and even a Wal-Mart bike is a way to start. The only problem with a Wal-Mart bike is that you will probably quickly outgrow it. Check out the Clydesdales/Athenas forum--a lot of really nice folks there, and some great motivators, too. You can possibly even find a riding buddy if you are in the right location.
