Hello from Virginia

Hello all,

I've done a few triathlons, and am trying to make a habit of biking and running for my commute. Biking it's not very far, about 8 miles, but the run is about 6.5 which is a solid workout.

Currently I use a mix of a falling apart hybrid, my triathlon bike (Cervelo Dual) and a Breezer folding bike for commuting. Plan on getting a cyclocross bike or something similar with some lights so I can keep going as the days get shorter.

welcome to BikeForums. An 8mi commute is about right, any less and it's not really worth the trouble of getting hot and sweaty on the ride in and having to change clothes, etc. At least thats the realization I came to after several weeks of riding 6mi each way to work.

Hello Lachlan, how are you managing to do both the riding and running? Are you tying the bike up to something solid in the middle to the commute?

Welcome to BF!

I see, the route you take for the running is shorter then! That threw me a bit...I was trying to figure out where you would have found a secure spot for the bike .

Yeah, my main "commuting" bike is my Cervelo Dual triathlon bike, and the most direct route involves a very rough direct road. Works fine on foot, not so great on super thin low spoke count tires
