Just another NEWB sayin "yo"

Hey guys! I'm relatively new into the biking scene, particularly MTN biking. I started with my dad, the sickest mtn biker I know, and loved it so much that I am still doing it. I have been mountain biking informally since I was 6 or 7 but only on the occasional sunday. I was always home while my dad was shredding it up at the local singletrack hardcore hills. But now, my dad stopped riding and I'm stuck exploring the state trails behind my house. I'm psyched about learning some sweet tricks and techniques, and eventually leaving my dad in the dust!

Soooo....

Hey, this post doesn't need a point. Its just an intro right??? If you haven't guessed, I'm still just a high-schooler with motivation. Whatever!

Hi Ryan, you're correct, your post doesn't really need a point, it's just to say Hi! What state trails would those be behind your house? And don't make your dad feel too bad, make him feel good that you're excited about learning more .

Are you sure you're a high-schooler? You don't sound like a high-schooler...

Welcome to BF!

Yeah i'm pretty sure I'm a freshman. Those trails behind my house??? pretty sweet. about 15 minutes in I have an INSANE downhill i'm talking 4 foot drops and huge rocks sticking up. The trails were pretty popular years ago apparently but now no one goes there anymore. Aside from the occasional tree fallen in the trail it is still in good shape. By the way, does anyone know a good site for finding more trails? I'm looking for a map or something of that land, and trying to find out where it goes to.

I would try finding it on Google Earth. Click on the hybrid version. I've found out a lot of interesting back roads that way--places where I would not have gone except that I could look at them on Google Earth and determine that I had options...
