I'm back to riding after knee injury

Hi,

I am looking for some information about riding after ACL knee reconstruction.
Not sure in what forum to ask about biking and health issues.
Anyway, my doctor says biking may help my knee, so I will start to commute to work with bike (6 miles each way).
I have a road bike Novara Strada, that I am adapting as a commuting bike: adding several lamps, topeak bag, also getting some winter clothes

Having had knee surgery myself (not ACL) I can tell you that spinning light gears really helped me quickly acclimate back into cycling. I would also be careful not to assume cycling can replace the physical therapy you still need.

Good Luck and Take Care,

Hello jb66, I might suggest heading over to the 50+ forum, even if you aren't quite that age. I think the folks over there might have quite a bit of experience with that type of surgery though.

Check out the commuting forum as well...

Welcome to BF!

You may find answers and help in the General Cycling forum and the Training and Nutrition forum.
