Hi from Azores islands
Hi everybody,
I am new to the forum. Live in the Azores Islands, midle Atlantic. I am 44 years old, and love bicycles, especialy road bicycles. I beleave they will replace cars in a near future when oil reaches 1000 usd a baril.
regards,
LP

Hello lamap, I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone else here is from the Azores.

Hi! Welcome to bikeforums.
My family is from Candelaria in Ponta Delgada. I've never been to the Azores, but hope to make the trip someday. Is there good riding in the Azores?

Thank you for your interest
Hi,
Thank you very much for your interest. You all make this a great site!
I have two bikes at the moment, a Trek 3900 MB and a Cube litening road bike. This one may is less know to the majority of the forum, came from Germany and I bought it used. I attach a photo, so you can see how it looks (much better than me!!!). This one is my favorite, I love road bikes. I use also the Trek, that I like very much, depending on the roads I have in mind.
The island I live is Sao Miguel, but I travell often on duty to the other islands, including Terceira, witch is the most populated after Sao Miguel. The total population for the 9 islands is about 130 000, half of them living im my island.
All the islands have lots os hills, so sometimes a simple 10km ride gets tiring. On the other side the biggest island is less than 100km long, so you can cycle it in two days!!!.
Last week end, my ride included Candelaria!!!. These are very beautifull islands and you will not regret to visit them.
Best regards to all,
LP

Having you here makes this an even better site! It is really nice to have members in such far flung parts of the world who can tie all of us together as cyclists .
