Hello from DC
Hello everyone, this seems like a great forum
Ive been riding distance since i was a teen, toured every year of my 20's, commuted well into my thirties, and now, only these twilight years, have i discovered the joys of speed.
Until I ruined my rear hub last month, I rode a c2001 Trek2300 triple crank with (seemingly irreplacable) Rolf Vector Comp wheels....the love of my 2-wheeled life. Now, I spend my weeks forlornly going from shop to shop trying to see if the hub/wheel can be repaired. In the meantime I ride my son's Felt F80, search the internet until strange hours, and impulsively cast a lustful eye on that Kestrel which may be in bikedirect's group-buy on this forum.

Hello Architect...try asking about your hubs in the Bicycle Mechanics forums, or perhaps Classic & Vintage.
Otherwise you may be too tempted by the Kestrel...
Welcome to BF!

Bikes Direct group buy
Thanks for the welcome, wow, never thought a 6 yr old alum bike would be considered vintage.
QUESTION: Why can i no longer find the thread for the group buy from bikesdirect? Was it a hoax and therefore deleted?

Well, a six year old bike isn't really vintage, but you never know what people have got stashed away, and if you can't find it in the local bike shops it's entirely possible that the local bike shops consider it 'vintage' .
As for the bikesdirect thread, I don't know the answer to that. You'd have to ask in the Road Cycling forum...

Welcome to Bike Forums and the (someday) mid-Atlantic forum.
Out of professional curiosity, are you really an architect? Or do you just play one on Bike Forums
