hey all.
just joined the forums today!
I'm a very low intermediate or upper beginner MTBer, having just started in May... and I'm cautious but learning!
(that means S-L-O-W on the trail!)
I'm up here in Charlotte, and i've become addicted enough in one year to carry my bike with me almost everywhere and have biked in Raleigh, Clemson (go Tigers!), and Altanta (crappy trail I could build, design, and maintain better than they did)
Back in '86 to about '91 i was a road biker on an old Schwinn World Sport 12 speed and thought I was in shape and ready to compete until I road some minor mountains and felt like I was dieing.
I have a dream of buying a road bike for next spring for weekend/days off without the kids to ride for variety, and taking place in a few races in the MTB series.

Hello JP, we are always glad to have more active posters here, as it enlivens the community no end :) . You will know what you are truly addicted when you have more than one bike!
